MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Stephenson's Rent-All continued its expansion with recent openings of rental departments within Revy Home and Garden home-improvement centers in Calgary, Alberta, and here. Stephenson's CEO Chris McKay told RER that the company also has opened rental departments in six Cashway Building Centres in southern Ontario.

The Cashway departments are 800- to 1,500-square-foot areas within stores ranging in size from 10,000 to 50,000 square feet. The Revy rental operations are larger, located within stores averaging about 145,000 square feet.

McKay said Stephenson's plans to open departments in 10 or 15 Revy and Cashway stores next year, depending on Revy's rate of expansion because the company has a number of stores under construction. "We're just waiting for the stores to open," he said. McKay said he hopes to open two in Edmonton, Alberta, during the first quarter of 2000.

Based in Mississauga, a Toronto suburb, Stephenson's, No. 61 on the RER 100, is Canada's largest homeowner-oriented rental chain with more than 50 locations.
