RIALTO, Calif. — Former Horizon High Reach CEO Shaun Flanagan, a veteran of 35 years in the equipment business, last month opened Pacific Equipment Logistics in Rialto, Calif., a facility for repair, distribution and storage of construction equipment.

PEL, a 120,000-square-foot facility, has service bays, paint booths, indoor and outdoor equipment storage space, conference rooms, and offices.

“We'll serve as a complete equipment logistics company,” Flanagan told RER. “For example, one manufacturer that has no representation on the West Coast will use us to store equipment, we'll inventory it, clean it, repair it if need be, provide parts and deliver it to customers if they sell it. If their people come to this area, we'll provide office space and complete conference and training facilities.” PEL will also provide field service where required.

The company will also offer repair services to rental companies, especially in the aerial and telehandler areas. The company will offer warranty repairs, in the shop or in the field, equipment washing and painting, and equipment unloading and delivery.

Flanagan added that although many people in the industry know him as the CEO of rental company Horizon High Reach, he began his 35-year equipment career in the product support area as parts and service manager for a Caterpillar dealer and therefore has extensive experience in all facets of equipment logistics.
