Rebranded Relaunched

Changes are rampant for RSC Equipment Rental this spring. The company recently announced its name change from Rental Service Corp. to RSC Equipment Rental and also launched its updated Web site

Striving to simplify and express its newer, cleaner brand, RSC redesigned its Web site with fewer active pages to make it straightforward and easier to use. Still present are the company's familiar features such as the Live Chat function and an individual page for each RSC branch location.

“This is an exciting phase for us,” said Ellen Steck, RSC's vice president of marketing. “With our new Web site we will better support our customers with more pertinent information, self-service functionality and access to the right people at the right time.”

Any time, day or night, an RSC customer may use the site to reach an online customer service representative to answer a question or to request a service. The customer will receive an immediate response from a trained RSC representative who has access to customers' accounts.

Another site feature is access to RSC Online, a proprietary application that lets customers view their account history in real time, reserve equipment for rent, call equipment off-rent, search for sale items and customize reports. RSC Online allows customers to use their computer to manage rented fleet, saving them time and money.

RSC Online is an improvement resulting from the combination of the previous site features eFacts and Online Rental. Using the new feature, qualified customers can order rental equipment online, any time of day or night, 365 days a year. The customer can also browse thousands of available categories or make a specific search and submit every detail of the reservation with only a few clicks of the mouse. RSC Online also allows the user to schedule equipment for delivery.

The Call Equipment Off-Rent feature allows customers to schedule rental equipment for pickup, or to cancel orders via the Internet. The customer simply needs to enter his or her invoice and purchase order number.

Manage Reports allows the customer to proactively manage and track rental account information, providing instant access to up-to-the minute information by account project, or equipment. This tool makes information on billing history, rentals year-to-date, and rentals by equipment type available to the customer under the form of pre-defined reports. RSC Online also allows the user to create custom reports suited to each customer's unique needs. With the Report Scheduler feature, the user will be able to subscribe to both pre-defined and user-defined reports and to schedule them for delivery daily, weekly, or monthly. Other features include a report console, which allows a customer to access and create reports in more categories, an expanded report definition control, and customizable data charts.

The redesigned Web site also allows customers to search for used equipment from the company's extensive inventory, see postings of events, find the nearest RSC location, and get information about some of RSC's exclusive programs such as the Mobile Tool Room, an on-site tool and supply rental service. Customers can also download catalogs and obtain information about financial services.

Of the newly relaunched site Steck says, “It's not rocket science, just simple efficiency.”
