WEST FARGO, N.D. — Bobcat donated $208,300 to the American Red Cross in support of the September 11, relief efforts.

Following the attacks, Bobcat shipped additional units into the area, and dealers supplied their customers with additional machines, maintenance supplies and attachments to use in the cleanup.

On Sept. 17, Bobcat began manufacturing a Spirit of America special edition skid-steer loader that was painted in patriotic colors. The company announced that it would donate $400 for each special edition machine ordered. In addition, the company donated $100 for other Bobcat loader models ordered by Sept. 30.

As a result, more than 300 Spirit of America skid-steer loaders were ordered along with an additional 883 other units backed by the smaller donation.
