The power rental market in Russia is developing rapidly, but is not yet mature, according to a new survey of the Russian power rental market released by Rus-Rental, the Russian Rental Association. The survey indicates the market volume has grown considerably in 2013 and that the upward trend will continue to grow during the next several years.
There are a variety of companies of different sizes operating in the Russian power market, from large corporations owning hundreds of generators to small private rental companies with one to five gensets in their rental fleets. Currently, more than 200 power rental companies offer 300 models of generators from 90 manufacturers for rent in Russia.
Among the most widespread are models produced by European companies such as SDMO, F.G. Wilson and Atlas Copco; U.S. companies such as Cummins and Caterpillar, and Japanese manufacturers such as Airman and Denyo. Chinese brands are present as well, with Kipor ranking as most popular.
The survey forecasts an increase of high-power generators of more than 750 kV in the coming years as this segment is currently underdeveloped.
