July 10, 2013

Altaaqa Global Cat Rental Power held a brand launching event in Barcelona, Spain, with the attendance of several energy ministers, presidents and CEOs of power utility companies, ambassadors and Caterpillar Inc. executives. The event highlighted Altaaqa Global’s geographic expansion plans and emphasized its intentions to invest heavily in countries where it plans to operate.

Altaaqa, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has the capability of tapping into the global Cat Rental Power network of more than 1,500 dealer and rental outlets. The company plans to set up regional hubs around the world while rapidly growing its generator fleet.

“We are delighted that key clients, stakeholders and friends in the power industry attended our grand launching in Europe,” said Steve Meyrick, managing director of Altaaqa Global. “It is a great honor to have hosted several presidents, ministers and business partners, and shared the goals of the company. I envision Altaaqa Global will become one of the best, if not the leading temporary energy provider in the world by 2020. The future growth of the company lies in its expertise to organically grow its business model, rapidly set up regional offices in the emerging markets, and through sound business acquisitions. We are planning to invest a substantial amount of resources that include power equipment, local employment, and training and development in countries where we will operate.”

The company said it will offer diesel, gas and dual-fuel temporary power plants as interim solutions in countries where power infrastructure is still being built.

“We have the right processes and business model, highly skilled power specialists, the latest Caterpillar power technology and abundant material resources to propel the company’s goals in the energy sector,” added Peter den Boogert, general manager for business development for Altaaqa Global. “We are bringing new-to-the-market power rental technologies that the electric power generation industry has never seen before, from fuel efficiency to our proven streamlined operational processes that delivered 24 MW in 96 hours.”
