Malaysia’s Sime Darby Expects 50-Percent Rental Growth in 2009

Malaysian rental company and Caterpillar dealership Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd expects its equipment and machinery rental business to grow by more than 50 percent this year despite the current economic slowdown, its managing director Chong Kwea Seng said last week.

Chong said the economic slowdown has stimulated Malaysian businesses to consider rental for their equipment needs. He added that Malaysian Mosaics Bhd recently placed orders for 100 units of Cat Rental lift trucks.
