Liebherr to Manufacturer Construction Equipment in U.S. by 2013

Austrian construction equipment manufacturer Liebherr will begin manufacturing equipment in the United States by 2013, its president Lena Hogue said at the ground breaking for a new sales, service, parts and warehouse distribution center in Hialeah Gardens, Fla., the sunsentinel.com reports.

The new venture will create from 80 to 120 jobs, the company said.

The 40,000-square-foot distribution center will serve as a major hub for Liebherr for its heavy crane and machinery business to Latin America and the Caribbean.

Liebherr has committed more than $90 million in U.S. investments, Hogue said.
