Ritchie Bros. last week held its largest Canadian off-site auction in Fort Nelson, British Columbia. It was the company’s first auction in Fort Nelson since 1986.

Seven hundred and twenty-one people from eight countries, 29 U.S. states and all Canadian provinces registered to bid. Ritchie offered 558 machines, including crawler tractors, motor scrapers, and truck tractors, grossing more than U.S. $15 million. It also offered five acres of real estate, which sold for two-and-a-half times the 2004 assessed value.

Ritchie regularly holds Canadian auctions at its permanent sites in Prince George and Vancouver, B.C.; Grande Prairie and Edmonton, Alberta; Truro, Nova Scotia; Toronto and Montreal.
