GE Energy last week announced a joint venture partnership with Shanghai Xin Hua Control Technology Co., through acquisition of a majority share in Xin Hua Control Engineering Co.

Xin Hua Control is a privately held company based in Shanghai, China, and designs, manufactures and installs steam turbine and power plant control systems and software for application in power generation, pulp and paper, oil and gas, and general industrial segments.

GE Energy has been active in China for more than 90 years, supplying steam and gas turbines, hydropower units and wind turbines as well as engineering solutions. Current GE Energy activities in China include gas turbine power plant construction, hydro, oil and gas and renewable energy projects as well as preparation for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
