Trico Lift Honored by Refineries Association

Aerial work platform rental company Trico Lift was recently honored with a 2008 Contractor Merit Safety Award presented by the National Petrochemical & Refineries Association for the company’s safe work performance at Sunoco’s refinery in Philadelphia.

Aerial work platform rental company Trico Lift was recently honored with a 2008 Contractor Merit Safety Award presented by the National Petrochemical & Refineries Association for the company’s safe work performance at Sunoco’s refinery in Philadelphia.

The award was presented at a NPRA banquet in Dallas. Trico Lift provides aerial work platforms and other plant maintenance equipment to Sunoco oil refineries located in Philadelphia and Marcus Hook, Pa., and in Westville, N.J.

“In 2005, we made a business commitment to work towards the highest safety ideals in our industry,” Trico Lift president and CEO Ken Pustizzi said. “We recognized we had been fortunate and that the protection and well being of our employees would be reinforced through added safety measures.”

Trico Lift’s employee safety record has consistently included full years without any recordable accidents. The company has received honors including the American Subcontractors of New Jersey’s Annual Safety Award, given to companies that “help define excellence in safety and serve as a role model for member companies.”

“Scheduled maintenance inspections are carefully performed on each unit in Trico Lift’s fleet at least every 90 days and completed reports are displayed on the exterior of each aerial work platform,” said Pat Schmetzer, Trico Lift’s vice president of operations. “The company strives to have equipment that is always 100-percent OSHA and ANSI compliant.”

Based in Millville, N.J., with branches and fleets in New Jersey, Texas, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Trico Lift is No. 50 on the RER 100.
