Thompson Machinery, a Nashville, Tenn.-based Caterpillar dealer, is building a new $6 million facility in northeast Mississippi, near Sherman, Miss., Associated Press is reporting. Company officials said it has outgrown its seven-acre site in South Tupelo, Miss.
The new facility, on 10 acres of land, will total 42,000 square feet, including a 23,000-square-foot shop with 17 service bays. About 8,000 square feet will serve as a parts warehouse, and the remaining space will be office space including meeting rooms, training rooms and an indoor machine display area for equipment sales and rental operations.
Thompson Machinery, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, operates 13 stores in central and west Tennessee and north Mississippi.
