Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers sold more than CDN $1 billion of equipment and trucks in its Canadian auctions to date in 2012 — the first time the company has achieved this mark in a single year. The record was reached during Ritchie’s Edmonton, Alberta, auction Dec. 13-14 where more than 3,400 equipment pieces were sold for more than CDN $60 million.

“This has been a monumental year for Ritchie Bros. in Canada,” said Kevin Tink, senior vice president, sales. “Not only have we sold more than CDN $1 billion of equipment in Canada alone in 2012, but also we held our largest Canadian auction in Edmonton last April as well as our largest auctions in Saskatchewan and Quebec earlier this month.”

The April 2012 Edmonton auction was the company’s largest ever in Canada, selling more than CDN $108 million in three days.
