Ritchie Bros. Sells $172 Million-Plus of Equipment at Orlando Auction

Ritchie Bros Auctioneers sold more than 10,700 items in five days, for more than $172 million. More than 9,850 bidders from 79 countries visited the auction, and more than $40 million worth of equipment was purchased by out-of-country buyers, about 23 percent of the total auction proceeds.

Bidders participated in person and online in real time. Online buyers purchased $64 million of equipment, 38 percent of the total. All items were sold without minimum bids of reserve prices.

“People travel from across the globe to attend this auction, and thousands more participate online from as far away as Belgium, Costa Rica, Colombia, Vietnam and more,” said Terry Dolan, president for U.S. and Latin America for Ritchie Bros.

More than 450 excavators, 240 loaders, 200 compactors, 150 dozers, 660 boomlifts and scissorlifts, 120 crane, 500 truck tractors and 390 trailers were sold.
