Skyworks Equipment Rental, a Buffalo, N.Y.-based company specializing in aerial work platforms and telehandlers, last week opened a branch in Columbus, Ohio, president Jerry R. Reinhart told RER Reports.

Reinhart said the branch is in a 6,000-square-foot building on an acre and a half of land. Dave Preston is the manager of the new location.

For Skyworks, which also has locations in Rochester and Syracuse, N.Y., it is the company’s first location outside New York. The company plans to open a branch in Toledo, Ohio, in March and has another location planned for later in the year.

Reinhart is the son of Jerry L. Reinhart, former owner of Access Rental, which, before selling to United Rentals in 1998, ranked as one of the largest independent rental companies in the United States.
