Ohio Machinery Co., dba Ohio Cat, Northern Ohio Peterbilt, and Ohio AG Equipment, recently acquired the property and buildings formerly owned and operated by Magnam Truck and Equipment in Lima, Ohio, Ohio Cat’s website reported. As an authorized Caterpillar, Peterbilt and AGCO dealer, the company was looking for property in this region to provide increased access for existing customers and prospects in the construction, transportation, agriculture, governmental, landscaping and specialty contractor industries. The property includes approximately 198 acres of land situated along I-75 in western Ohio, south of Toledo.
Ohio Cat currently has a location in Perrysburg and another in Troy, leaving a large gap for servicing customers in the areas between those two cities. The company sees Lima, located in Allen County, as a good location, 70 miles from Perrysburg and 53 miles from Troy, making it easier for customers in between to buy and rent equipment and get parts and service.
Lima will be Ohio Cat’s 31st location, Caterpillar and allied equipment and rental through the Cat Rental Store. It will be the 11th location for Northern Ohio Peterbilt offering truck sales, parts and service. Northern Ohio Peterbilt sells and supports heavy duty, medium duty and vocational trucks, and its parts stores carry OEM and aftermarket parts. Ohio Ag Equipment, an authorized AGCO and Claas dealer, offers machinery, parts, and service support to the surrounding agricultural community. The Lima facility will be its sixth location.
