National Trench Safety, a Houston-based company specializing in rental and sales of trench and traffic safety equipment, as well as OSHA-compliant training classes, has opened a new branch operation in Las Vegas.

“While the Las Vegas market has been hit hard by the economic downturn, we are seeing a real rebound in underground and highway projects in this area,” said Ron Chilton, president of NTS. “This is an important strategic location for NTS and a market we have been watching and planning to enter for some time. As a base for our new branch, we were able to acquire certain operating assets previously owned by Traffic Control Services and Allied Trench Shoring in Las Vegas. The TCS/Allied asset purchases have given NTS significant rental and sales fleet to service and support our customer base immediately. The new Las Vegas branch will be one of the largest trench and traffic safety operations in the country.”

The Las Vegas branch is the 12th location for NTS in the United States and its first in Nevada. The company currently has branch operations in California, Arizona, Texas, Utah and Louisiana. The company opened a branch earlier this month in Sacramento, Calif.

The new Las Vegas branch will be managed by former TCS/Allied managers. Keith Taylor will be the Nevada district manager and Chuck Volk will be branch manager, both veterans of more than 20 years experience in the trench and traffic safety industry.

“We are fortunate to have Keith and Chuck heading up our new Las Vegas operation,” said Chilton. “Keith has built a highly experienced sales and operational support team that are all well known in the market.”
