BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. —Imperial Crane Services recently opened a branch in Roxanne, Ill., positioning the company to break into the St. Louis crane market. Imperial’s long-term goals are to expand the organization throughout the United States, placing them in a position to grow both daily rentals, and large, long-term projects, the company said.

The company said the location near St. Louis was ideal because of the opportunities available for long and short-term rentals. Its proximity to plants such as ConocoPhillips in Wood River, Ill., was a major factor in choosing the location, Imperial said.

Imperial has extensive experience in refinery turnaround and maintenance work, including starting a similar operation in Borger, Texas, designed to service the ConocoPhillips refinery in that area. Imperial is also the preferred vendor for British Petroleum’s Whiting Refinery Moderation Project at its second-largest refinery in Whiting, Ind., and has been providing equipment to the Lemont, Ill., CITGO refinery for more than 30 years.

Imperial hired Larry Leuchtmann to run its new St. Louis office and grow daily rentals in the area. Leuchtmann is a veteran of more than 30 years experience in the St. Louis crane rental industry.

To keep up with expansion, Imperial has purchased a multimillion dollar package of crawlers, Tadano rough-terrain cranes, a 600-ton Liebherr and an Elliott boom truck.

Based in Bridgeview, Ill., Imperial Crane Services is No. 55 on the RER 100.
