Caterpillar dealer Gregory Poole Equipment Co. held a groundbreaking ceremony Nov. 1 for its newest facility in Mebane, N.C. The 51,800-square-foot building will be located in a new 40-acre commercial park.
The company expects to complete construction in the fall of 2008. The branch will have office space, a 12,800-square-foot parts warehouse and a 30,000-square-foot service center to support Poole’s construction, on-highway engine and Cat Rental Store customers.
More than 120 people attended the groundbreaking, including chairman, president and CEO J. Gregory Poole III and various local dignitaries.
Based in Raleigh, N.C., Gregory Poole Equipment Co. is the Caterpillar heavy construction equipment dealer for eastern North Carolina, and provides services, sales, parts and rental in the eastern portions of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
A major rental player, GPEC is No. 46 on the RER 100.
