Caterpillar dealer Gregory Poole Equipment Co., based in Raleigh, N.C., and covering the eastern areas of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, celebrate its 60th birthday March 31 with a simultaneous luncheon in 14 different locations to commemorate its founding April 1, 1951.
“This is an exciting time for the history of this company, because achieving 60 years in business is no small feat,” said Gregory Poole III, chairman, president and CEO. “This anniversary signifies that we’re not just a 60-year-old company, but we’re a company that is highly innovative, creative and has a very bright future.”
GPE was founded by James Gregory Poole Sr. and his uncle William Lewis Gregory. It has expanded to seven divisions and employs more than 800 employees at 21 facilities. The company remains family-owned and has been led by Poole III since 1999.
The company is also a major player in rental, No. 65 on the RER 100.
