Sept. 23, 2011
The ARA of New York will host two 120-minute seminar-style presentations by Tom Ross, CEO of Alert Management Systems, called “How to Make a 20-Percent Operating Profit,” Nov. 2, in Syracuse, N.Y., and Dec. 1, in New York City.

The ARA of New York will host two 120-minute seminar-style presentations by Tom Ross, CEO of Alert Management Systems, called “How to Make a 20-Percent Operating Profit,” Nov. 2, in Syracuse, N.Y., and Dec. 1, in New York City.

Ross will show attendees that profitability is really a decision — one that should be made consciously, starting upfront in the planning process, he says. Building on the American Rental Association’s Cost of Doing Business Survey, Ross will provide a complete 10-step process illustrating the secrets of the most profitable operators in rental. The seminar will include strategies to increase revenues, reduce operating costs, improve customers’ experience, and increase profits.

Ross will also break-down the latest economic forecast for New York markets from the Global Insight “State of the Rental Industry” study, which provides research on rental market trends for each region.

The seminar on Wednesday, Nov. 2, will take place at 11 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in East Syracuse, N.Y. The location of the seminar in New York City on Dec. 1, will be announced at a later date.

Ross began his business career with the Leo Burnett Co., a global advertising firm, retiring as one of its top executives. Since his retirement from advertising, Ross consulted for a variety of small to mid-sized businesses. As CEO of Alert Management Systems for the past six years, he has focused his skills entirely on rental businesses.

Alert Management Systems is a leading supplier of Windows-certified equipment rental management software.
