Aggreko, leading global provider of modular, mobile power and related solutions, has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of the equipment rental business of ICS Group, a Canadian provider of portable climate control services.

Aggreko, leading global provider of modular, mobile power and related solutions, has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of the equipment rental business of ICS Group, a Canadian provider of portable climate control services.

ICS was founded in 1999 in Alberta and is well known for its temporary heating, concrete cure and ground thawing solutions that cater to many of Aggreko’s key sectors including construction, oil and gas, industrial, restoration and event sectors. The acquisition will establish Aggreko in the North American heater market and also provide it with a geographic footprint in cities such as Calgary, Alberta, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, where it doesn’t currently operate.

“This acquisition combines the strength of two market leaders to give our customers an unparalleled range of equipment and services options,” said Bruce Pool, managing director, Aggreko North America. “It also gives Aggreko an opportunity to further support our rapidly expanding customer base within critical Canadian cities and their surrounding areas.”

The acquisition will add more than 60 experienced and skilled employees to Aggreko, and more than 2,100 fleet assets.

“Aggreko shares the same passion, can-do attitude, and commitment to available inventory, equipment reliability and service excellence that we have built our reputation around,” said Ken Kachur, senior partner, ICS Group.

Following a period of transition, Aggreko plans to fully integrate the operations of ICS with its Western Canada business before developing expansion plans to enter other areas within North America.

Headquartered in Scotland, with U.S. base in Houston, Aggreko North America is No. 6 on the RER 100.
