Admar Construction Equipment and Supplies has acquired the assets of Knickerbocker Equipment Co., including its headquarters in Erie, Pa. The Erie facility will now be the Erie headquarters for Rochester, N.Y.-based Admar as Admar’s Erie operations will move into the former Knickerbocker facility.

Admar, long a major player in upstate New York, has been growing in Pennsylvania and has a branch in the Wilkes-Barre, Pa., area as well.

With the combination of staffs from both companies, Admar will have a team of more than a dozen employees in Erie.

“Admar has been a family owned and operated business for nearly 45 years,” said Joel DiMarco, Admar president. “From one family business to another, we are proud to carry on the long tradition of exceptional customer service that Knickerbocker is known for in the Erie region.”

Admar will offer the same products Knickerbocker had, and will enhance that inventory with items such as aerial work platforms, rough-terrain forklifts, excavators, air compressors, pumps, generators, concrete equipment, compaction equipment and more.

Brad Perrine, branch manager for Admar in Erie, said the company is working to create a smooth transition as possible for Knickerbocker customers.

Admar Construction Equipment and Supplies is No. 49 on the RER 100.
