Action Rent All, Cartersville, Ga., recently acquired Eddie Rents, based in Rome, Ga., with a branch in Cedartown, Ga.
Action, owned by Steve and Ann Sheffield, has taken over the operation of Eddie, with no disruption in service, owners said. Action has already changed the name of the Eddie Rents branches to Action Rent All.
Eddie Rents was founded in September 1971 by Eddie Brock Sr., Eddie Brock Jr., and Mary Ann Brock. Action was founded in 1983 by Steve Sheffield’s father Doyle Sheffield, who has been semi-retired for the past 10 years, with son Steve operating the company as general manager. Steve acquired the business from his father in January 2008. Steve took over as president and was instrumental in the acquisition of Eddie Rents
The Sheffields said they plan to remodel Eddie’s Rome location and hold an open house in the spring.
