The new SkyAir accessory system from JLG Industries lets workers use pneumatic tools in the platform of equipped boom lifts by way of a fully integrated compressed air option. The compressor fits under the hood of JLG boom lifts and is driven by the JLG 7,500-watt SkyPower generator. It delivers air to a platform-mounted regulator through an airline integrated into the powertrack. The SkyAir compressor can provide up to 9.3 cubic feet per minute at pressures of 125 psi, which is enough to operate ½-inch drive impact wrenches, air hammers, drills and other tools.

The SkyAir compressor promotes jobsite safety by reducing potential dangers from air lines hanging over platform rails and the clutter of additional generators and compressors on the site. The entire system is mounted under the hood of the boom lift to reduce the potential of theft. The SkyAir compressor provides on-board air to run the JLG SkyCutter accessory system.

Jeff Ford, product market champion for JLG, says by interacting with users, the company is able to understand how integrated tools can improve productivity.

“The integrated air compressor and air line allow the operator to move freely from work area to work area without constantly guarding air hoses against damage from other equipment driving around the site,” Ford says. “Because the machine is not tethered to a ground-based compressor, no time is wasted moving the compressor from location to location.”
