Designed especially for the rental market, the new Lavina 21 from Superabrasive Inc. is a 21-inch concrete polishing machine engineered for small grinding, polishing and burnishing projects. Compared to other grinding and polishing machines of similar size available to the rental market, a major advantage of Lavina 21 is the free planetary movement, which results in a more consistent scratch pattern and ultimately a better polish, the maker says.

At 3.5 hp and 200 pounds, it is easy to maneuver and transport. Each machine comes with three 8-inch quick-change plates and three 8-inch foam plates. It has a 5-gallon water tank and a vacuum port, so it can be used either wet or dry.

“Lavina 21 is extremely simple and easy to operate,” says Len Sniegowski, sales manager, Superabrasive. “Just on and off, [there is] no inverter to mess with. With the aggressive price point creating such a low initial investment, it makes this machine extremely popular.”

For best results and optimal performance, the manufacturer recommends using Lavina 21 only with Superabrasive's high-quality diamond tooling — the Quickchange metal tools, Calibra ceramic discs, Nato and V-Harr resin pads. The machine is also available in a 1.5-hp, 110-volt version.
