Snorkel is celebrating the start of its 60th year in business at The ARA Show 2019, displaying three new products to the rental industry.

First introduced to the U.S. market at World of Concrete in January, the new Snorkel S2755RT is a narrow rough terrain scissor lift that delivers a working height of up to 32 ft. 4 in. (10.1m) and a lift capacity of 661 lbs. (300kg), from a narrow width chassis measuring just 4 ft. 9 in. (1.45m). Designed to fit in the most compact spaces, the Snorkel S2755RT also benefits from a light weight of just 6,062 lbs. (2,570kg), meaning it can be towed between jobs on a trailer by a pick-up, SUV or commercial vehicle.

The Snorkel S2755RT, and the smaller S2255RT, are established Snorkel models in the rest of the world, having been originally introduced to the Australasian market in 2006, and then added to the European product range in 2017. They share many of the same design features and componentry of the standard width compact rough terrain scissor lift family, which includes the Snorkel S2770RT, S3370RT, and S3970RT, and all models are available with Snorkel’s bi-energy power source option for the flexibility of indoor and outdoor working with the same machine.

Alongside the S2755RT, Snorkel is also showcasing its largest telehandler to date, that was also introduced at World of Concrete just four weeks ago. The new Snorkel SR1054 delivers a lift capacity of up to 10,000 lbs. (4,535kg), a maximum lift height of 53 ft. 9 in (16.4m) and a forward reach of 41 ft. 4 in. (12.6m).

Sharing many of the same features of the Snorkel SR5719 telehandler, the SR1054 is equipped with full-time four-wheel drive, power assisted steering and a fully-enclosed cab with adjustable suspension seat, proportional joystick controls and heat and air conditioning. The SR1054 is powered by a Deutz TLD 3.6L 100hp Tier 4 Final engine, weighs 26,852 lbs. (12,180kg), and is backed by Snorkel’s standard two-year parts & labor, five-year structural warranty.

The ARA Show 2019 will also be the official trade show debut of the new Snorkel 400S mid-size telescopic boom lift. Rounding out the launch of the new family of Snorkel mid-size telescopic boom lifts, the 400S is the smallest lift in the range and offers a maximum working height of 46 ft. (14.0m), and a horizontal outreach of up to 35 ft. (10.1m). The robust design delivers an unrestricted platform capacity of 600 lbs. (272kg), which increases to 1,000 lbs. (454kg) working within a restricted envelope.

Powerful four-wheel drive, a Deutz 2.9L 49hp Tier 4 Final engine, an oscillating axle and 50 percent gradeability ensure the 400S delivers superb rough terrain performance, while all proportional controls and a spacious 8 ft. x 3 ft. (2.44m x 0.91m) platform provide high levels of operator comfort and precision.

Now in full production in Snorkel’s manufacturing facilities in Henderson, Nev., and Elwood, Kans., the 400S is also available as the 460SJ, fitted with a 6 ft. 6 in. (2.0m) jib boom with 135 degrees of vertical movement, and shares a common design and components with the Snorkel 600S and 660SJ telescopic booms.

In addition to the three new models, Snorkel is also displaying a large selection of its most popular rental-focused lifts and products, including the E-Z Loader delivery truck bed, at its 3,000 sq. ft. (278 sqm) booth in the Construction Hall at The ARA Show.

Graphics showing key highlights from Snorkel’s 60 years in business are on display at the booth, along with the opportunity to purchase copies of Snorkel founder, Art Moore’s memoirs. Snorkel will also be highlighting its new online parts ordering and technical publications system that was launched in January, as well as hosting a celebratory reception for its customers during the show.
