Contrary to initial reports, Brad Boehler, let go last week as president of Skyjack Inc., has declined parent company Linamar’s offer of a corporate position.

“I have since considered my options and decided I’m not interested in their corporate position and I’m going to head out on my own and look for some new challenges and opportunities and find a way to be successful in another place,” Boehler told RER.

Boehler, who comes from an engineering background, brought a dynamic marketing presence to Skyjack during his eight-year tenure as president. The company, which has expanded its product portfolio significantly during Boehler’s tenure, has also been very successful in growing sales and public awareness of the Guelph, Ontario, Canada-based company, a division of Linamar Inc.

“I was there for almost a decade, that’s a pretty good run,” Boehler said. “We had phenomenal growth, Skyjack had phenomenal growth coming out of the recession. I’m pretty proud of that.”

Boehler said he is hopeful to stay in the access industry. “That would be great,” he said. “Or with rental or ancillary or another equipment manufacturer, I’d like to stay in that part of the business. I am still a director on the board of Serious Labs, and I’m going to continue my IPAF presidency and my AEM responsibilities as well.”
