BlueLine Rental has acquired Capital Rentals, a general equipment rental company operating five locations in Northern Virginia. Capital Rentals is the first company acquired by BlueLine since Asterios Satrazemis joined the company as CEO in December 2015.

Capital Rentals was founded in 1969 and is a full-service provider serving customers in Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C., area. The acquisition expands BlueLine’s footprint into the Washington, D.C., market, an area that ranks among the top 10 MSAs for rental revenue as ranked by IHS Global in 2016. Capital Rentals has branches in Beltsville, Fairfax, Manassas, Sterling and Triangle, Va.

Satrazemis said Capital Rentals, which operated for 50 years as an independent, aligns closely with BlueLine’s culture.

“At BlueLine we believe our heart of an independent is what sets us apart from other large competitors,” Satrazemis said. “Today we strengthened our team and improved our density in Washington, D.C., ultimately positioning us to better serve our customers in the market.”

Catalyst Strategic Advisors LLC served as the exclusive advisor to Capital Rentals.

BlueLine Rental, based in The Woodlands, Texas, is No. 6 on the RER 100.
